Christine Jones has been designing sets for plays in New York as
well as regional theatres across the country for the past twelve
years. On Broadway she designed Julie Taymor's production of The
Green Bird, which was nominated for several awards when it was
originally produced Off-Broadway. Favorite productions include:True
Love, for which she created an installation in an old zipper
factory and turned car seats into audience seating, as well as Flesh
and Blood, at New York Theatre Workshop, for which she and the
crew culled 18' tree trunks from a friend's land to create a forest
on stage. Recently she began designing opera: Lucia di Lammermour,
at New York City Opera, and Guilio Cesare, at Houston Grand
Opera in the fall of 2003. Since November of 2002, she has been
developing Theatre for One, a booth designed for one actor
and one audience member. She directed three short plays for a workshop
in April of 2003, and continued developing the project this summer
as an artist in residence at The O'Neill Playwrights Conference.
She is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, and is a Lecturer
